Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following general criteria:
- Hold a recognized university degree from an accredited institution
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance (often “very good” or above)
- Be under 35 years of age for Master’s applicants, or 40 years for PhD candidates
- Be medically fit and maintain good conduct
- Not have been dismissed from a Saudi university in past
- Provide two academic recommendation letters
- English language proficiency if required (for non-Arabic/Islamic studies programs) — minimum commonly: IELTS 5, TOEFL IBT 61, TOEFL PBT 500, etc.
- All degree certificates, transcripts, and supporting documents must be certified/attested by the Saudi Embassy (or equivalent) in the applicant’s country
- Note: Some programs (especially in Health Sciences) may have additional restrictions or requirements
Application & Deadline
- Applications are submitted online via the official KAU scholarship portal.
- There is no application fee.
- The deadline for Master’s and PhD program applications is October 31, 2025.
