The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched a new campaign called “Be Aware… No Hajj without a Visa” to raise awareness among Muslim pilgrims coming to Saudi Arabia. The campaign aims to inform non-Saudi pilgrims about the importance of obtaining official permits for performing Hajj.
The ministry emphasized the need to fulfill all legal requirements set by the authorities and warned against fraudulent accounts claiming to provide permits for foreign pilgrims.
It was clarified that pilgrims must obtain a specific Hajj visa before arriving in Saudi Arabia. Other types of visas, such as visit visas, tourism visas, employment visas, or transit visas, will not be valid for performing the pilgrimage at the holy sites.
Pilgrims from non-Muslim majority countries, including Europe, the Americas, and Australia, are required to apply for Hajj through the Nusuk online platform. The ministry strictly warns against trusting online accounts or individuals offering Hajj services at lower prices illegally.
The Hajj ministry has provided detailed instructions and information for pilgrims, including guidelines on prohibited items on planes and the requirement to fill a customs declaration form upon entry or departure. This applies to situations involving carrying large amounts of currency, valuable jewelry, commercial quantities of goods, or goods subject to excise tax.
