The State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday ordered banks to put Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar(MPMG) scheme on hold. This was bascically to hold Fresh Expenditure under Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (PMKJ-YES)
There is almost a deficit of almost 12 million housing units due to rising population. This scheme was launched by previous goverment, All banks did great job by providing housing scheme that could be beneficial for people.
“Government of Pakistan is considering to review/revise features of subject Scheme in light of recent developments in macroeconomic scenario. Accordingly, banks/DFIs/MFBs are advised to put further disbursements under MPMG on hold from July 01, 2022, till August 31, 2022,” the central bank
Commercial Banks in Pakistan have approved Rs. 212 billion and distributed almost Rs. 85 billion to customers across Country under MPMG scheme.
