A major housing sc_am has been uncovered in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, involving more than 90,000 plots that never actually existed. According to NAB, several private housing schemes and cooperative societies tricked people by selling files and memberships for land they did not own.
These developers promoted fa_ke land banks, made big promises, and issued thousands of files without having any real land available. Many people believed their advertisements and invested huge amounts of money, thinking they were buying future plots for their families.
Investigations show that over 91,000 files were sold far beyond the area officially approved for these schemes. In some cases, housing societies claimed to offer up to 80,000 kanals of land, even though they legally owned nothing close to that amount. This means citizens were paying for property that did not exist at all.
The vic_tims include government employees, retired individuals, and ordinary families who trusted these schemes with their life savings. Many people had hoped to build homes or secure property for their children, but now they are left in shock and financial distress.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the scale of the sc_am to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and to protect people from further losses.
