The Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites is working to encourage people in Makkah and the Holy Sites to use light transportation like scooters and bicycles.
They’re teaching people how to use these safely and teaming up with different organizations like the Makkah Mayoralty, Transport General Authority, Umm Al-Qura University, and Kidana Development Company to make it happen.
They’re starting this effort in places like pedestrian walkways, neighborhoods, parking lots, and around Mount Al-Rahma in Arafat.
Also, Umm Al-Qura University is supporting the idea by providing 30 scooters at four stations on its campus. The goal is to make the community better and give a positive experience to both residents and visitors.
