Separate Immigration Counters to Be Set Up at All Pakistani Airports for Foreign Passengers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the government to set up special immigration counters for foreign passengers at all international airports in Pakistan. This new step aims to make travel easier and more comfortable for tourists and business visitors arriving in the country.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, these dedicated counters will help speed up the immigration process and reduce waiting times for foreigners and returning Pakistani citizens.

Officials believe this move will improve the experience for international travelers and help promote tourism, attract foreign investment, and support ongoing business activities in Pakistan.

Alongside this plan, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has also approved major upgrades for airports across the country. As part of these improvements, Sukkur and Dera Ismail Khan airports will soon be upgraded to handle international flights.

This means more cities will be open to direct international travel, making it easier for visitors to reach different parts of Pakistan without having to pass through the major airports in Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad.

These changes are part of Pakistan’s wider plan to make the country more welcoming and accessible to global travelers. By providing smoother airport services and better facilities, the government hopes to create a positive first impression and encourage more people to choose Pakistan as a travel and business destination.

Industry experts believe these measures could bring a big boost to the tourism sector and help the economy grow by attracting more visitors, investors, and business opportunities in the years to come.
