Shab-e-Barat to Be Observed Tonight in Pakistan

Muslims in Pakistan and around the world will observe Shab-e-Barat tonight (Thursday), a night of prayer, forgiveness, and blessings. This sacred night falls on the 15th of Sha’ban and is also known as Laylat-ul-Bara’ah. Many believe that on this night, Allah SWT decides people’s destinies for the coming year.

Throughout the night, mosques will remain open for special prayers, including Nawafil, Quran recitations, and heartfelt supplications. Many people will also visit graveyards to pray for their loved ones who have passed away. Some will observe a voluntary fast on Friday, February 14, as a way to seek Allah’s mercy and blessings.

To ensure safety during the night, authorities have increased security in major cities and implemented special traffic plans to manage crowds near mosques and graveyards. Municipal teams are also working to keep graveyards clean and provide a safe environment for those visiting to offer prayers.
