The ICC has announced the candidates for the Player of the Month awards for April. They’ve named top cricket players who have shown outstanding performances in both Men’s and Women’s categories.
In the Women’s group, we have Chamari Athapaththu from Sri Lanka, Hayley Matthews from the West Indies, and Laura Wolvaardt from South Africa. Athapaththu wowed everyone with her amazing batting in ODIs and T20Is. Matthews showed her skills in both batting and bowling, while Wolvaardt impressed with her superb batting.
For the Men’s category, we have Shaheen Shah Afridi from Pakistan, Gerhard Erasmus from Namibia, and Muhammad Waseem from the UAE. Afridi’s bowling in the T20I series against New Zealand earned him a nomination. Erasmus led Namibia to victory in Oman with his excellent all-round performance. Waseem’s consistent batting in the ACC Premier Cup caught everyone’s attention.
The winners will be chosen through a voting process involving the ICC Voting Academy and cricket fans worldwide. The announcement will be made on the second Monday of the month on the ICC’s digital platforms.
