Shaping the Future of Education: Pearson Edexcel and British Council Host School Leaders Conference in Lahore

Education leaders from across Pakistan gathered for a transformative School Leaders Conference hosted by Pearson Edexcel in collaboration with the British Council. The event brought together educators, school administrators, and key stakeholders to explore innovations in teaching, assessment, and qualification delivery aligned with the British education system.

As a trusted provider of globally recognized qualifications, Pearson Edexcel continues to support international schools in raising academic standards and preparing students for future success.

Kathryn Booth, Director Pearson School Qualifications Middle East, Africa, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, delivered a compelling session on recent developments in the Pearson Edexcel including modular International GCSEs, onscreen assessments, and insights from the May/June 2025 exam series. She said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this Conference in Lahore in conjunction with our partner, the British Council, and we’re looking forward to bringing our schools together to discuss the latest updates from Pearson.

Pearson Edexcel qualifications are successfully offered in more than 120 countries worldwide, but we’ve been blown away by the growth we’ve seen in Pakistan this year, with over 40% increase in our International GCSE entries. It’s great that so many schools in Pakistan are starting to see the value in both our offer of International GCSEs and International A levels, and the bespoke support that our dedicated local team provide.”

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Ayesha Zaheer, Head of Business Development at Pearson Pakistan and closed with sessions by Fareed Ather and Abdullah Lateef Khan, who outlined Pearson’s wide-ranging support services.

Pearson also presented Centre Recognition Awards to its partner schools in Pakistan, acknowledging and supporting their commitment to delivering Pearson Edexcel qualifications.

This conference served as a dynamic platform for professional dialogue, offering school leaders practical insights into the future of UK based education in Pakistan. From assessment innovations to evolving qualification structures, attendees left equipped with knowledge and tools to drive meaningful impact in their schools.
