In a beautiful example of interfaith harmony and mutual respect, a 75-year-old Sikh woman, Bibi Rajendra Kaur, has donated five marlas of her own land in Jakhwali village, Punjab, India, for the construction of a mosque. Her kind gesture has touched many hearts and is being widely appreciated by people from different religious backgrounds.
Jakhwali village is home to Sikh, Hindu, and Muslim families who have lived together peacefully for years. Until now, the village did not have a mosque, which meant Muslim residents had to travel to nearby areas to offer their daily prayers. This created difficulty, especially for elderly people and those with limited transport. By donating her land, Bibi Rajendra Kaur has helped solve a long-standing problem for the Muslim community.
The spirit of unity did not stop there. Local Sikh and Hindu residents also came forward to support the project by donating money. So far, more than ₹3.5 lakh has been collected to help with the construction of the mosque. This collective effort shows the strong sense of cooperation and brotherhood among the villagers.
The donated land has been legally transferred to the Muslim Committee, ensuring that the mosque project moves forward smoothly and transparently. Construction work is already underway and is expected to be completed by February. Once finished, the mosque will serve as a place of worship and a symbol of peace for the entire village.
This inspiring act highlights how compassion, understanding, and respect can bring communities closer together. It stands as a powerful reminder that peaceful coexistence and shared humanity are stronger than religious differences.
