Sindh Becomes First Province to Cultivate Jackfruit in Pakistan

Sindh has made a groundbreaking step in agriculture by becoming the first region in Pakistan to cultivate jackfruit, also known as Kathal. This fruit was previously only grown in neighboring countries like India and Bangladesh, making this a significant development for local farming.

The areas selected for this innovative project are Tando Jam and Tando Allahyar in Sindh. This initiative is expected to bring positive changes to the agricultural landscape of the region.

Officials believe that planting jackfruit will create sustainable economic opportunities for local farmers and communities.

Jackfruit trees, once fully mature, can produce up to 500 fruits each year, indicating a strong potential for harvest. This new cultivation not only diversifies the crops in Sindh but also opens up avenues for farmers to enhance their livelihoods through the growth of this valuable fruit.
