A meeting has been conducted under Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh on waste-to- electricity project of Karachi city.
It was informed during the briefing that at the landfill site of Karachi. By the end of 2023, two large waste-to- power plants will start producing electricity, which have 50MW capacity of production.
Further, it was told during the briefing that the place and waste supply has been provided by Sindh Solid Waste Management Board. However, the feasibility report and further regulations of both plants are in process.
Moreover, the further planning would be started soon for the potential buyers of electricity produced from waste.
