Sindh Mass Transit Authority Announces Job Position in Pakistan

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) has opened applications for a key role in its financial management team, offering an opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to join as a Financial Management Specialist. This role is available on a temporary, contractual basis, with an annual renewal contingent on performance.

Position and Eligibility Requirements

The SMTA seeks a skilled candidate with an extensive background in financial management. The ideal applicant should be a civil servant from the Pakistan Audit & Account Service (PARS) who has passed the Final Passing Out Exam (FPOE) from the Department of Auditor General of Pakistan and is currently serving in BPS-18 or 19. Preferred educational qualifications include a degree in CA, CMA, ICMA, ACCA, or an MBA in Finance. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance, MS Finance, or M.Com will also be given due consideration.

In addition to formal qualifications, the position requires at least 8 years of relevant experience in financial management, covering accounting, finance consulting, auditing, or accounts. The successful candidate should have proven expertise in working with various finance departments, including the Division of Auditor General of Pakistan, the Accountant General’s office, and the Planning Department or Commission. Experience on dollar-funded and public sector projects will be an added advantage.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with finance departments and other relevant entities.

Contractual Nature of the Position

It is important to note that this position is funded by an international lending agency, and the selected candidate will not have the right to claim regular employment with the government in the future. Renewal of the contract each year is based solely on performance and the needs of the project.
