Solar Panel Prices Increase Massively in 2026

Solar panel prices in Pakistan have risen sharply in 2026, making solar energy more expensive for homes and businesses. Buyers visiting local markets are seeing clear price increases, especially for Chinese solar panels that are widely used across the country.

According to market dealers, popular solar panels have gone up by around Rs. 5,000 per panel compared to last year.

A 585-watt solar panel, which was earlier available for Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 17,000, is now being sold for around Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 21,000. Similarly, the price of a 645-watt panel has increased from nearly Rs. 20,000 to about Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 25,000.

The highest jump has been seen in the 720-watt category. These panels, once priced between Rs. 22,000 and Rs. 25,000, are now selling for as much as Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000, depending on the brand and quality.

Industry sources say rising global prices of raw materials like silver and copper have increased manufacturing costs. Import taxes on Chinese solar panels have also added pressure on prices. Strong demand for solar solutions due to high electricity bills has further pushed rates upward.

Experts warn that the per-watt price, which was around Rs. 22 a few months ago, has already crossed Rs. 30 and could reach Rs. 40 if current trends continue. In addition, solar batteries have also become costlier, with prices rising by nearly 10% in the past month.

Despite higher costs, many Pakistanis are still opting for solar power, hoping for long-term relief from rising electricity expenses.
