The arrival of August always brings an aura of patriotism and excitement. You see elders sharing stories of partition while the children stick little flags in different parts of the house and the street. However, the Independence Day for many thalassemic kids is the same as any ordinary day. As most of them belong to underprivileged areas, they are not able to celebrate the occasion with the same zeal and enthusiasm.
Help International Welfare Trust makes sure that our thal stars (thalassemia kids) celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan like everyone else. It is a day full of fun-festivities along with an insight into historical events. The children engage in speeches and cultural performances, and learn from the theatre performances.
It makes us immensely happy to see our youth engaging in social welfare activities. All the funds for this event have been solely collected by the students of different universities across Karachi.
After a two-year break because of Covid-19, team HIWT and HVP is ready with the largest event of the year to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence with our thal stars.
