Stronger Monsoon Spell to Hit Pakistan from July 28

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced that a stronger monsoon spell is expected to begin on July 28, bringing heavy rainfall to various parts of the country. This upcoming wave of rain will affect all four provinces—Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sindh, and Balochistan—and is being described as more intense than the previous spells. It marks the fifth major monsoon spell of the season.

According to the forecast, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive rainfall between July 28 and July 31. In Punjab and Islamabad, including major cities like Lahore, rain is also expected during this period. Balochistan will likely see rain from July 29 to July 31, while Sindh, including Karachi, is expected to experience downpours on July 30 and July 31.

The authorities have issued warnings for possible floods and landslides, especially in low-lying areas and near rivers in Punjab and Islamabad. Heavy rain could cause urban flooding in major cities and create dangerous travel conditions on hilly roads. The public has been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.

Tourists, especially those visiting northern regions or planning travel during the forecasted days, are urged to remain cautious and avoid risky areas such as riverbanks and mountain slopes. The warning is especially important because moderate flooding has already been reported in some parts of the Indus River, increasing concerns about worsening water levels and potential damage to property and infrastructure.

People are encouraged to follow updates from the weather department and local authorities to ensure their safety during this active monsoon period.
