Swedish Institute Announces Fully Funded Scholarship for Women in STEM

The Swedish Institute (SI) has announced a remarkable opportunity for women in STEM fields to pursue fully funded master’s degrees in Sweden. This prestigious scholarship program is designed to empower women from eligible countries, enabling them to excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while contributing to global development.

The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals 2025 aims to create future leaders by supporting women with strong academic and professional backgrounds. The program not only covers tuition fees but also provides financial assistance for living expenses, making it a life-changing opportunity for many aspiring candidates.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet specific criteria to qualify for the scholarship. Women from countries like Bangladesh, Kenya, South Africa, and Vietnam are eligible to apply. However, those holding dual citizenship must select one eligible nationality for their application. Applicants already living in Sweden for over two years or enrolled in Swedish universities are not eligible.

Candidates must apply for a master’s program through Sweden’s centralized admissions portal and secure conditional admission by March 2025. Late admissions or failure to pay the application fee will disqualify applicants.

Application Process

The journey begins by selecting an eligible master’s program in Sweden. Prospective students need to:

  • Search for courses and rank their preferences.
  • Provide required documents, including degrees, transcripts, a motivation letter, and a CV.
  • Fulfill English language requirements and pay the application fee.
Once the university admissions process is complete, candidates must submit an electronic form on the SI Scholarship portal, ensuring all documents, including their passport and references, are uploaded.

Deadlines

The deadline for the scholarship application is January 15, 2025. Successful candidates will receive admission confirmation from Swedish universities by March 27, 2025. The final list of scholarship awardees will be announced by April 24, 2025.

Beyond financial support, recipients will join the SI Alumni Network, a global community of leaders committed to driving positive change. The scholarship is a gateway to exceptional academic learning and an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals worldwide.
