Tent Cities Established Near Homes for Flood Victims in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif received a detailed briefing about the relief efforts being carried out for flood-affected people in Jhang district, especially in Athara Hazari tehsil.

Officials informed her that tent cities and flood relief camps have been set up to provide shelter and care to the victims. These camps are fully equipped with basic facilities, including accommodation, food, and medical assistance.

Teams of doctors and staff are present on-site to ensure that people receive proper treatment, and free medicines are being distributed to those in need.

To handle emergencies, a temporary helipad has also been established, making it easier to carry out rescue operations or provide urgent medical evacuations. The chief minister was assured that every effort is being made to ensure timely support and protection for the affected families.

Additional tent cities have also been arranged in Kot Khaira and at the Government High School in Ahmedpur Sial. Special attention has been given to vulnerable groups, with separate sections designed for women and children, ensuring their privacy, safety, and comfort.

The government emphasized that these efforts are part of a larger plan to protect people during the ongoing flood situation. Relief operations are being continuously monitored to make sure that no family is left without help.

The Punjab government reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people during this crisis, promising ongoing assistance until normal life is restored in the flood-hit areas.
