Under the 10th National Finance Commission (NFC) award, the federal government has issued the whole sum of over Rs121 billion earmarked for the tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) in fiscal year 2020-21.
The K-tribal P’s areas, together known as the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) until May 2018, received 3% of the award, according to the Finance Division. It made it clear that it has no say in NFC-related choices.
According to the report, the districts received Rs121.1 in 2020-21, while the erstwhile Fata received Rs129.7 this year. According to the report, the district received Rs56.1 billion in the current budget for fiscal year 2019-20. A total of Rs50.4 billion has been released from the budget.
The current budget allocated Rs56 billion for the districts in 2020-21, and the entire amount has been disbursed. In the current budget, Rs60 billion has been set aside for the area.
In the fiscal year 2019-2020, Rs72.5 billion was allotted as development budget under the 10th NFC award. The allocation has been released in the amount of Rs37.2 billion by the Finance Division.
The Finance Division has disbursed the whole sum of Rs48.1 billion budgeted for the areas as development budget for the year 2020-21. The erstwhile Fata has been granted Rs52.7 billion in this year’s development budget.
In the year 2019-20, Rs17 billion has been awarded for internally displaced people (IDPs) in tribal districts under the 10th NFC Award.
