Remember when “working for yourself” sounded like a pipedream because it traditionally required investment, an office, or years of experience? Well, this is 2025, and times have changed. Today, that dream has four wheels, and a Yango logo slapped to the side.
Operating across Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, a new wave of entrepreneurs has emerged. Yes, these are the Yango partner drivers who have revamped their vehicles into full-fledged revenue-generating machines. Calling it the Yangopreneurship wouldn’t be wrong since it is a movement where everyday Pakistanis are redefining what business ownership looks like.
One driver from Karachi puts it simply, “My car used to be a liability. At one point, I also thought of selling it. Shukar Alhamdulillah, now it’s my business. I decide when to work, and when to take a break.”
According to data gathered by Yango, partner drivers using their cars full-time can earn anywhere from PKR 250,000 to PKR 290,000 a month, while those driving bikes or rickshaws can walk home with almost PKR 150,000–190,000. The difference, you ask? Effort, consistency, and timing; this is a ballgame that does not warrant degrees or connections.
Unlike traditional jobs like banking, data entry, the basic 9-5 jobs or even call centers with the oddest of hours, Yango offers flexibility and control that a job will never guarantee. Drivers choose their hours, work around personal commitments, and can earn extra through bonuses and incentives. All of that with excellent insurance coverage, safety programs, and continuous training, it’s easy to see why more people are referring to this as “the job that doesn’t feel like one.”
Recently, Yango has also introduced a feature called Flex Mode, which gives drivers even more control. It allows partner drivers to accept only the trips they want, and choose their own routes. The feature has already launched in Karachi and will soon roll out in other cities, making it an ideal option for students, retirees, and anyone looking to earn extra without committing to full-time driving.
In a country where small businesses often struggle with high setup costs, Yango’s model allows anyone with a car, bike, or rickshaw to start earning instantly. You don’t have to jump through the hoops of a middleman, extra waiting, no fixed salary. That’s the beauty of this new economy because today, mobility equals opportunity.
