Heavy rainfall has spread across many parts of Pakistan, bringing a welcome break from the intense heatwave and making the weather more pleasant in several areas.
In Punjab, cities like Sialkot, Gujrat, Sargodha, and Narowal were hit by strong showers, accompanied by thunder and lightning. The rain cooled down the atmosphere and provided relief to people who had been struggling with high temperatures.
In the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan, places such as Shahdadkot, Qambar, and Nasirabad also saw heavy rain and strong winds. Meanwhile, Karachi experienced light drizzle early Thursday morning, adding some coolness to the day.
In response to the ongoing rain and the possibility of flooding, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and rescue services to remain on high alert. He has ordered them to take all necessary precautions and be ready to act quickly to ensure public safety, especially in areas near rivers that are at risk of flooding.
