The exports of tobacco from the country observed a raise of 415.01% during the first month of fiscal year.
Comparing with the reports Pakistan exported tobacco worth $4.872 million during July 2022 while $0.946 million during July 2021, indicating a clear surge of 415.01%, as per PBS (Pakistan Bureau of Statistics).
However, if we talk about the quantity, 228.51% surge has been observed as the country exported 1,544 metric ton of tobacco during the month under review as compared to the exports of 470 metric ton during last fiscal year.
Whereas, on MoM (month-on-month) basis, the export of tobacco decreased by 29.33% during the month of July 2022 comparing to the exports of $6.894 million in June 2022.
Meanwhile, it is mandatory to mention here that Pakistan’s overall merchandise exports decreased by 5.17% in July 2022 comparing to the exports of July 2021.
However, the exports of $2,219 million were recorded during the month. While $2,340 million exports were observed in previous July.
Further, decline in an imports was also observed with 12.81% to $4,861 million in July 2022 as compared to the exports of $5,575 million in July 2021.
According to the figures, the merchandize trade deficit decreased by 18.33% by moving downwards from the deficit of $3,235 million last July to $2,642 million in July 2022, as per PBS data.
