Following the tragic earthquake that struck Turkey on Monday, goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan passed away, according to his club Yeni Malatyaspor.
It should be recalled that on Monday, Turkey and Syria were hit by the strongest earthquake in nearly a century, which destroyed houses and sent shocks as far away as Greenland.
“Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, our goalie, perished as a result of being caught in the earthquake’s collapse. Enjoy your serenity, “The club tweeted in a statement.
It said, “We won’t forget you, wonderful person.”
The club had previously claimed that Turkaslan was imprisoned in a collapsed structure.
After arriving in 2021, 28-year-old Turkaslan has played six times for Yeni Malatyaspor of the Turkish second division.
