Turkish president Erdogan listed among ‘most corrupt persons’ of 2021

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), an investigative news reporting platform for independent media outlets, has dubbed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the fourth most corrupt premier of the year.

According to reports, the infamous list was compiled by a six-member journalist panel analysing and reporting on corruption, and it was the first time in ten years that the journalist panel reached a unanimous consensus.

According to the OCCRP, Erdogan, who claimed victory in a constitutional referendum, allegedly oversaw a corrupt scheme that used state-owned banks to launder Chinese dollars for Iranian oil.
