According to the UAE government, under certain conditions, a Muslim resident in the UAE can sponsor two wives at the same time. To obtain a residence visa for a wife and children, a resident must provide a certified Arabic marriage contract or a translated version by an authorized translator.
For resident fathers, they can sponsor their unmarried daughters regardless of their age. As for male sons, the father can sponsor them until they reach the age of 25. If they are studying, the father can continue to sponsor them even after they turn 25.
For newborns, it is important to obtain a residence permit for them within 120 days of their birth to avoid penalties. A resident can also sponsor the children of his wife from her previous marriage by meeting specific requirements, such as obtaining consent from the biological father and providing a deposit as a guarantee. In this case, the residence permit is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.

To request sponsorship for a wife and children, the resident needs to submit several documents, including
- the residence visa application
- passport copies of both the sponsor and the sponsored individuals
- photographs of the wife and children with a white background
- medical fitness certificates for individuals above 18
- copies of the husband’s employment or company contract
- a valid work permit
- a certificate of the husband’s salary
- an attested lease contract.
