UAE Announces New Category for Golden Visa

The UAE has introduced a new Golden Visa category aimed at recognizing individuals who contribute to humanitarian and charitable causes. This move marks another major step in the country’s ongoing efforts to promote social responsibility and support community development.

According to the announcement, donors who make endowments (Waqf) for charitable purposes can now qualify for the UAE Golden Visa.

The initiative has been launched through a collaboration between the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) and the Endowments and Minors Affairs Foundation (Awqaf Dubai).

Under this program, Awqaf Dubai will identify and recommend eligible donors who fulfill the official requirements outlined in the Cabinet Resolution No. (65) of 2022. Once the applications are reviewed and approved, the long-term residency permits will be issued by GDRFA-Dubai.

Officials from both organizations emphasized that this initiative reflects the UAE’s broader vision of becoming a global center for humanitarian action.

It also highlights the government’s commitment to supporting those who contribute to the well-being of society through sustainable and meaningful initiatives.

A special joint committee will be formed to ensure the smooth execution of the program and to measure its long-term social impact. The committee will also focus on ensuring that the new category continues to benefit individuals who actively support charitable and community projects.

With this development, the UAE reinforces its reputation as a country that values generosity, sustainability, and social progress offering a unique way for philanthropists to be honored for their lasting contributions to humanity.
