UAE has launched four new visit visa categories as part of its ongoing efforts to attract international talent and promote tourism, business, and cultural engagement.
The move, announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, introduces flexible entry options for professionals, tourists, and visitors attending events across the country.
The first new visa category targets specialists in artificial intelligence, allowing them to enter the UAE for single or multiple trips with a sponsorship letter from a recognized technology institution.
The second category is designed for short-term entertainment purposes, making it easier for visitors to attend concerts, shows, or other entertainment-related activities.
A third option, the event visa, will facilitate entry for individuals participating in conferences, exhibitions, festivals, and sporting or cultural events, provided they have a sponsoring entity and the required documentation.
The fourth category focuses on tourists arriving via cruise ships or pleasure boats, requiring a detailed itinerary and approval from a licensed tourism operator.
Alongside these new categories, the UAE has also updated its humanitarian and family-related visa policies. Provisions now allow widows or divorcees of UAE citizens to obtain residency without a sponsor under certain conditions, particularly if they are caring for children. Individuals from countries affected by wars, natural disasters, or unrest can also receive short-term visas without a guarantor.
Authorities said these visa reforms aim to strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness, enhance trade and tourism, and provide more opportunities for professionals, tourists, and families to visit and contribute to the country’s development.
Experts believe these changes will make the UAE more accessible to global talent and visitors while ensuring humanitarian needs are addressed, reflecting the nation’s commitment to inclusivity and growth.
