UAE INTRODUCES MINIMUM SALARY REQUIREMENT RULES FOR VISIT VISAS

The United Arab Emirates has announced new salary requirements for residents who want to sponsor visit visas. The step is aimed at bringing more genuine visitors into the country and reducing cases where people overstay or abscond.

Under the new rules, residents who earn at least AED 4,000 per month can now sponsor their first-degree relatives. Those earning AED 8,000 are allowed to sponsor second- and third-degree relatives. Meanwhile, residents with a salary of AED 15,000 can even sponsor their friends.

Experts see this change as a positive move because it allows residents to apply directly through Amer Centres and immigration offices, without relying only on private agencies. This makes the process simpler, more transparent, and less costly for applicants.

Officials believe the new system will make it easier for families to reunite, help expand business opportunities, and reduce misuse of visit visas. It also strengthens the UAE’s reputation as an international hub that welcomes visitors while keeping immigration rules clear and fair.
