The United Arab Emirates has officially declined to host the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. This decision comes as a result of a prior agreement between the UAE and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which had already reserved the Dubai cricket venues for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.
According to reports, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about this scheduling conflict. With this unexpected development, IPL’s future plans for the 2025 season have become uncertain, leaving Indian cricket authorities looking for alternative options.
In response to the situation, India is now considering the possibility of hosting the rest of the IPL 2025 matches in September. However, this new schedule may clash with the preparations for the Asia Cup 2025, raising concerns about the availability of players and venues.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that the playoffs and final matches of PSL 10 will indeed be held in the UAE, as originally planned. The PCB is expected to share more updates regarding schedules and logistics in the coming days.
This situation highlights the increasing competition and complexity in organizing international cricket events, especially when multiple leagues are planned around the same time. Both the BCCI and PCB are working to manage their tournaments while maintaining commitments to fans and players alike.
