The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, are planning to introduce a unified visa system similar to the Schengen visa.
Talks have been held among these countries to allow travellers to visit all six nations under a single visa. This move aims to simplify travel and eliminate the need for multiple visa applications, promoting seamless tourism within the GCC region.
The discussions for a unified visa system were initiated during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai. The collaboration among GCC countries was inspired by the success of cross-collaboration during the FIFA World Cup, where Saudi Arabia granted 60-day visas to all Hayya Card holders.
This unified visa system is expected to boost tourism and contribute to the economic growth of the GCC countries.
