Taxi fleet of Abu Dhabi just got environment friendly upgrade by including Tesla’s electric vehicles as a part of it.
The emirate’s ITC (Integrated Transport Centre) recently announced that several Tesla cars would join the fleet to support Abu Dhabi’s step towards environment and achieve its sustainable development goals.
Whereas, the authorities haven’t confirmed the routes of Tesla taxis till yet.
By 2027, Dubai is also aiming to go green with RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) to convert their taxi fleet to green vehicles. So far, around 50% of the emirate’s cabs are electric or hybrid vehicles.
Managing director of Arabia Taxi Transportation,Sheikh Sultan Majid Hamad Al Qasimi said, “There is no doubt that this step will appeal to the public among taxi users in the Abu Dhabi, as it contributes to improving the quality of services provided to them, enhances their satisfaction, and achieves high indicators of happiness for the users of those vehicles.”
The launch of Tesla vehicles was declared as the ITC conducted workshops, events and interactive activities in various locations of country from 8 to 17 March. The goal is to strengthen the interaction between the ITC and the various segments of society, and raise awareness about its services.
