UAE’s Burj Khalifa Lights Up to Celebrate Philippines Independence Day

Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, was adorned in the vibrant red, white, blue, and yellow hues of the Philippine flag on June 12 in celebration of the country’s Independence Day. The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sent warm wishes to President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos on this special occasion.

The impressive display was a tribute to the Filipino people’s spirit, resilience, and cultural heritage. In a social media post, Burj Khalifa (page on Instagram) expressed admiration for the achievements and progress of the nation, wishing unity and joy for Filipinos as they marked this significant day.

To add a touch of fun, three lighthearted questions were posed to some Filipinos residing in the UAE, asking them about their favorite aspects of the Philippines, how they would preserve them, and how they would promote them to the world.

Christine Filomena cherished the culture of elder respect and family values, promoting strong family bonds and happiness through gratitude.

Moreover, Elleen Claridades emphasized preserving the traditional hand-woven cloth called Tnalak, created by the T’boli people, by encouraging the purchase of authentic Tnalak fabrics and products.

The illumination of the Burj Khalifa with the Philippine flag colors symbolized the Filipino people’s indomitable spirit and served as a reminder of their rich heritage. Furthermore, it was a moment of unity and joy for Filipinos worldwide, celebrating 125 years of independence from Spain.
