UK Makes Getting Visa Easier For Pakistanis, Here are the Details

The United Kingdom has made getting a visa easier for many Pakistanis by introducing e-Visas for students and workers. This big change started on July 15, 2025, and is meant to make the visa process faster, safer, and more convenient.

Now, most Pakistanis who want to study or work in the UK for more than six months will not need to send in their passports for a visa sticker. Instead, they will get a digital visa record that proves their right to stay in the UK.

Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, shared the news online and said this new system will help people keep their passports with them while waiting for their visa decision. This is very useful for those who may need their passports for other travel plans at the same time.

Here’s how the new e-Visa system works:

  • From July 15, 2025, students and workers will get e-Visas for stays over six months.
  • There is no need to submit passports for a sticker anymore.
  • Once approved, the visa details will be available online through a UKVI account.
  • People can share their visa status with landlords, employers, or anyone else using the “view and prove” link.
  • Dependants and visitors who are not applying for study or work visas will still get a physical sticker for now.
  • The UK aims to expand e-Visas to all categories in the future.
  • Current visa holders with stickers do not need to do anything — their visas remain valid.

This move will help thousands of Pakistani students and professionals plan their trips easily, without the hassle of giving up their passports. The UK is working towards a fully digital and safer visa system, making things simpler for everyone.
