Umrah Pilgrims Perform Maghrib Prayer in Heavy Rain at Kaaba

On August 29, 2025, Umrah pilgrims in Makkah experienced a rare and beautiful moment when heavy rain fell during Maghrib prayers at the Kaaba. The holy site, filled with thousands of worshippers, became even more spiritual as the rain poured down, creating an atmosphere of peace and devotion.

Despite the downpour, the prayers continued without interruption. Sheikh Maher Al Muaiqly led the congregation, and pilgrims stayed focused on their worship.

Many shielded themselves with scarves, prayer mats, or umbrellas, but the rain did not distract them. Instead, it became part of the spiritual experience, adding to the sense of unity and patience among the worshippers.

For many pilgrims, witnessing the Kaaba in rainfall was a once-in-a-lifetime blessing. The sight of the holy mosque surrounded by showers touched the hearts of all present, reminding them of faith, resilience, and the power of prayer.

Meanwhile, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a yellow alert for Makkah, warning of moderate rainfall accompanied by strong winds and reduced visibility.

Authorities advised both pilgrims and residents to take safety measures and remain cautious during their movements in the city.

The rains, while challenging, did not lessen the devotion of the people gathered in Makkah. On the contrary, the moment showed how faith remains strong even in difficult conditions. The heavy rain over the Kaaba will remain a cherished memory for those who were part of this extraordinary evening.
