According to a recent directive from the DG, delivery of passports with a standard fee will now take 10 days rather than a month, delivery of passports with an urgent fee will now take 4 working days rather than 10, and delivery of passports via fast track will now take 2 days rather than 5 as it did previously.
For the applicants, this decision is a huge relief, especially since the backlog of passport applications reached 500,000 in the first week of April.
Even the delivery of Exact and Urgent passports did not occur within the allotted time.
To minimise any inconvenience, it is crucial for the applicants to take advantage of this new procedure and submit their passport applications as soon as possible.
The DG has guaranteed that all applicants will obtain their passports on schedule and that the passport distribution procedure will be sped up.
