US cricketer Rusty Theron has made a serious accusation against Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf for allegedly tampering with the ball during Pakistan’s loss to the US in the T20 World Cup.
Theron took to Twitter to claim that Rauf was observed scratching the ball with his fingernails. He tagged the International Cricket Council (ICC) in his tweet and raised questions about the sudden swing of the ball early in the match, just after two overs had been bowled.
These allegations came to light after the US secured a narrow victory in the match, which ultimately went into a Super Over to determine the winner.
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, admitted that his team had underestimated the US team, which is not as established in international cricket, and acknowledged their failure to execute their game plans effectively. He pointed out the crucial partnership between Mohank Patel and Andries Gous early in the US innings as pivotal to their success.
The accusations by Theron have sparked discussions and debates among cricket enthusiasts worldwide, highlighting the sensitivity and importance of fair play and sportsmanship in cricket tournaments. The ICC may investigate the allegations to ensure the integrity of the game and maintain its standards against any form of tampering or unfair practices.
