More than 300 people and organizations have been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, and former US President Donald Trump is reportedly one of them. The Norwegian Nobel Institute announced that there are 338 nominations in total, with 244 being individuals and 94 being organizations. However, the names of the nominees will remain a secret for the next 50 years, according to the institute’s rules.
Trump’s nomination came from US Congressman Darrell Issa, who praised Trump’s work in promoting peace in the Middle East. Additionally, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Oleksandr Merezhko had previously submitted a nomination for Trump as well.
The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded each year to individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to promoting peace around the world. This year, with such a large pool of nominees, the competition is expected to be intense. The winner will be announced later in the year by the Nobel Committee in Oslo, Norway.
