The number of US visa applications from Pakistan is expected to hit record highs in 2024, with more than 10,000 applications being processed every month by the US consulates in Karachi and Islamabad.
This surge follows a significant year in 2023 when the US embassy in Islamabad and the Karachi consulate issued the highest number of visas on record. The trend indicates that this year’s numbers will surpass those of the previous year.
To better manage this influx, the US embassy has successfully reduced the wait time for visa appointments. Previously, applicants had to wait 440 days, but now the wait time has been cut down to 230 days. This improvement aims to facilitate smoother and faster processing for applicants.
For those who have already submitted their visa applications, there is now a convenient system to review their cases via email.
This system allows applicants to track the status of their applications easily. Each application is carefully reviewed on an individual basis, ensuring thorough and fair consideration. Typically, decisions are made within three to four days after the interview, providing applicants with timely responses.
This increase in visa applications from Pakistan reflects the growing interest and need for travel between the two countries.
The US consulates and embassy are committed to supporting this demand by streamlining processes and reducing waiting times, making it more efficient for Pakistani applicants to obtain US visas.
