Uzbekistan Airways has shared exciting news, starting May 24, 2025, the airline will begin direct flights from Tashkent to Islamabad. These flights will run once a week, every Saturday, during the initial phase.
Aviation authorities from both Pakistan and Uzbekistan are still finalizing the details, but the decision marks a strong step toward improved travel between the two countries.
The new air route is expected to increase tourism and business between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. It also adds to the recent efforts to improve regional air travel. Just recently, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) launched direct flights from Lahore to Baku, Azerbaijan. These new routes are making it easier for people and businesses to connect across Central and South Asia.
Government officials from Pakistan and Uzbekistan are also working on boosting trade between the two countries. Their goal is to increase trade to $1 billion in the coming years.
To support this, both sides are cooperating in key industries such as food, textiles, and electronics. They are working under a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), which offers lower tariffs and easier market access for selected goods.
This direct flight between Tashkent and Islamabad is more than just a travel route—it is a sign of growing friendship, better business opportunities, and improved regional ties. It opens doors for tourists, students, business people, and families to connect more easily. With continued cooperation, both countries aim to bring their people and markets closer together.
