Scholarship Value
This esteemed scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year for three years during doctoral studies. However, remember that only the PhD portion of the join graduate research programs is eligible for funding.
Candidate eligibility
Following eligibility criteria must be met.
- Applying candidates must be Canadian citizens or international students.
- Must be nominated by only one Canadian university having Vanier CGS quota.
- Must be pursuing first doctoral degree.
- The candidates must be intended to start their doctoral or joint graduate research programs (MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, MBA/PhD) in the summer semester or the year following the results announcement.
- Students must have achieved a first-class in each of the last two years of full-time study or equivalent.
- Must not have a PhD scholarship or fellowship from NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC.
Deadline
The students must check the deadline for submission at their nominating institutions. However, the deadline for nominating universities is November 1, 2023 (20:00 EDT).
