In the second match of PSL 10 held in Rawalpindi, Quetta Gladiators delivered a dominant performance, defeating Peshawar Zalmi by a huge margin of 80 runs.
After losing the toss, Quetta was asked to bat first and they made the most of the opportunity. Their batting lineup put on a powerful show, setting a challenging target of 217 runs. Saud Shakeel played a solid innings and scored 59 runs, while Finn Allen added a quickfire 53. Hassan Nawaz also contributed well with an impressive 41 runs, helping Quetta post a massive total on the board.
In response, Peshawar Zalmi never really got going. Their batting struggled under pressure, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Saim Ayub was the only standout for Zalmi, scoring a fighting 50 runs. However, the rest of the batting lineup couldn’t offer much resistance. Quetta’s bowler Abrar Ahmed played a key role in the collapse, taking four important wickets and dismantling Zalmi’s hopes of a successful chase.
Earlier in the match, Peshawar Zalmi had won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to take advantage of the conditions. But their decision didn’t go as planned, as Quetta’s batting proved too strong.
Later tonight, Karachi Kings will take on Multan Sultans in another exciting clash, this time in Karachi.
Meanwhile, in yesterday’s game, Islamabad United secured a comfortable victory over Lahore Qalandars. They won by eight wickets, thanks to a brilliant knock of 59 runs from Colin Munro, which guided them to a smooth chase.
