Victory! Pakistan Wins 2nd ODI Match Against Bangladesh

Pakistan secured a dominant 128-run victory over Bangladesh through the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in the second One Day International of the 2026 series, played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The win allowed Pakistan to bounce back strongly after their defeat in the opening match and brought the three-match series level at 1-1.

After being put in to bat, Pakistan produced a solid batting performance and posted a competitive total of 274 runs. The innings was highlighted by an explosive knock from Maaz Sadaqat, who scored an impressive 75 runs off just 46 deliveries, providing crucial momentum in the middle overs. His aggressive approach put the Bangladesh bowlers under pressure and shifted the balance of the match in Pakistan’s favor. In addition to Sadaqat’s contribution, Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan built a steady partnership that helped stabilize the innings and guide Pakistan to a strong total.

In response, Bangladesh faced immediate difficulties during their run chase. Pakistan’s bowling attack applied consistent pressure from the start, with early breakthroughs disrupting the hosts’ batting order. Star pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf played a key role in dismantling the Bangladeshi lineup, claiming important wickets and maintaining tight control over the scoring rate. Bangladesh struggled to recover from the early setbacks and eventually finished at 114 runs.

Due to match interruptions and revised calculations under the DLS method, Pakistan were declared winners by 128 runs. The convincing performance highlighted Pakistan’s ability to recover quickly after a disappointing loss in the first ODI and demonstrated a balanced effort from both their batting and bowling departments.

With the series now tied at one match each, both teams will head into the final ODI with high stakes. The deciding match is expected to be an intense contest as Pakistan and Bangladesh battle for series victory.
