In a rain-affected Asia Cup Super Four match held in Colombo, India’s Virat Kohli and KL Rahul showed their batting brilliance. Kohli scored an outstanding 122 runs from 94 balls, while Rahul achieved an impressive 111 not out from 106 balls. Their centuries solidified India’s dominance in the game.
India started their batting at 147 for two in 24.1 overs but managed to reach a strong total of 356 for two in 50 overs on the match’s reserved day. Kohli’s century was remarkable, marking his 47th in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). During his innings, he also reached the milestone of being the fastest player to score 13,000 runs in ODIs.
In addition to this achievement, Kohli’s performance in Colombo earned him another record by scoring his fourth consecutive ODI century in the same venue, matching the previous record held by South African cricket legend Hashim Amla for the most consecutive hundreds in one location.
