Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that his country aspires to advance in cricket with India.
Prime Minister Khan, who is in Saudi Arabia for a three-day official visit, described Pakistan’s victory against India in the opening match of the 2021 T20 World Cup as “historic.”
“India and Pakistan can progress as good neighbours,” he said, adding that Islamabad wants positive relations with New Delhi. He linked regional peace to the resolution of the Kashmir problem, saying that if India grants occupied Kashmir the right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions, the South Asian region will be at peace.
When asked about Pakistan’s ties with Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stated that the two countries had fraternal and historical ties. He praised Saudi Arabia’s current leadership, claiming that it has elevated the country to the ranks of developed nations.
