WhatsApp is blamed for facilitating the service with its always-on online status feature, according to a WhatsApp monitoring site aimed at catching alleged cheating spouses.
The creator of a website that allowed anyone to enter the phone numbers of two or more WhatsApp users and see when each of them used the app in an easy-to-understand visualization, theoretically showing who was talking to whom, has blamed WhatsApp for allowing such a functionality to exist.
“We believe that WhatsApp can disable access to online statuses for numbers that are not mutual contacts. This is the only reason we will continue to operate; if they do so, we and any other apps that do the same will cease to exist,” stated the administrator.
