IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his strong focus on economic reforms, saying that when he commits to a goal, he works hard to achieve it.
She shared these views while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where she expressed great respect for the prime minister and appreciated the direction his government has taken on economic changes. According to Georgieva, Pakistan is taking its reform efforts seriously, and the early results of these policies are now becoming visible.
She added that the government is not only working on stabilising the economy but is also making efforts to use available resources to improve the daily lives of people. These steps, she noted, show a clear intention to strengthen the country’s economic foundation and create better conditions for long-term growth.
Her comments came after a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s 56th annual session. During the discussion, both sides reviewed Pakistan’s economic situation and ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund.
