The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced new rules for Pakistani women planning to perform Hajj in 2025. According to the updated policy, women need permission from their husband or family to take part in the pilgrimage.
However, women are now allowed to travel for Hajj without a male guardian (mahram) under certain conditions approved by the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII). They must join a trusted group of female pilgrims to ensure their safety. This marks a significant change after years of restrictions on solo travel for women.
The new regulations also state that children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to participate in Hajj. Furthermore, all pilgrims must comply with Saudi Arabia’s vaccination requirements before traveling.
Pakistan has been allotted 179,210 Hajj slots for the upcoming pilgrimage. These updated guidelines aim to make the process more organized and ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims.
The government is also focusing on making Hajj arrangements smoother and aligning them with international health and safety standards. These steps are expected to help pilgrims prepare better and have a fulfilling Hajj experience while adhering to Islamic principles and local regulations.
