World Bank to Provide Financial Support of $1.3 Billion to Pakistan

The World Bank said on Wednesday that it will provide Pakistan with $1.3 billion for emergency, agriculture, and housing relief in the wake of floods.

Regional Director World Bank announced that the bank will provide financial support to farmers in flood-affected areas across Pakistan.

Tariq Bashir Cheema said floods and rains had resulted in losses for the farming community, stressing that the government was trying to provide relief and assistance to the poor farmers.

World Bank estimates around $40bn flood losses.

The minister assured full support from the ministry for the projects and initiatives by the World Bank in Pakistan.
