Young Shimshal mountaineer Shah Daulat (31) tragically lost his life after slipping during ice climbing in Khyber village, Gojal Hunza. He fell nearly 400 meters while training on a winter ice wall alongside a foreign climber and died at the scene.
Shah Daulat was a highly accomplished and widely respected climber. He had successfully summited K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum-I, and Gasherbrum-II, including a rare oxygen-free ascent of Gasherbrum-I in 2025. His untimely death has sent waves of grief throughout Pakistan’s mountaineering community.
