YouTube is Now the World’s Largest Media Company

According to financial research conducted by MoffettNathanson, YouTube has surpassed Disney to become the world’s largest media company. The Google-owned platform is estimated to have generated around $62 billion in revenue in 2025, slightly edging out Disney, whose media division earned approximately $60.9 billion during the same period.

YouTube’s remarkable growth is attributed to several factors. Advertising remains a key revenue driver, while paid subscriptions—including YouTube Premium, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV—have contributed significantly to its earnings. Additionally, the platform has cultivated a robust ecosystem for creators, having paid over $100 billion to partners globally, which has strengthened its position as a leading hub for digital content creation.

With an estimated valuation ranging between $500 billion and $560 billion, YouTube continues to expand its footprint across the digital media landscape. Its influence is further amplified by advancements in AI-driven content and personalization, allowing the platform to stay at the forefront of both technology and entertainment. This combination of innovation, monetization strategies, and support for its creator community has cemented YouTube’s status as a dominant force in the modern media industry.
